We tried this last month but unfortunately Typhoon Sepat rudely interrupted our day out.....so here it is again!
This week we have a monster run taking place at the beautiful Chianshuei Bay on the NW coast.
Not only is it a beach run but we also get to chase the hares around looking for those valuable Puma tags and FHM Magazine will be there looking for Taiwan's next supermodel!.......No Jed, we don't want to see you in a Bikini!
The hares have been putting a lot of work into this run and promise a NEW loop of around 45min, giving us plenty of time to relax afterwards and enjoy the beach.
And if that was not enough there is a special limited edition China Hash T-shirt up for grabs.
So, get your runners ready by the door, pull out the swimwear, grab your beer holder and get set for a great day of entertainment!

For those taking public transport meet at HONGSHULIN MRT STATION - EXIT 1. This is the 2nd to last stop at the north end of the red Danshui Line
Regroup at 1:30pm and either get a lift with someone driving out there or take a taxi around 20mins away.
搭乘大眾交通工具的朋友，請搭乘捷運淡水線(紅線)於1:30pm至紅樹林捷運站1號出口集合，一同搭計程車前往，麵粉會由捷運站開始灑起，約20分鍾車程。
Flour will commence from Hongshulin MRT Station and lead out onto Denghui Blvd (Route 2) where drivers can pick up the flour. Follow the flour to the run start at Chianshuei Bay
騎車/開車的朋友，麵粉將於紅樹林捷運站往登輝大道方向開始灑起，，跟著麵粉記號走至起跑點
Drivers, please stop by and pick up runners!

Aaaah this week's run…..will it have suspension bridges to cross, more
ups and downs than Mijo "Gout Boy" Slut after his weekly period, a hill so steep
that you end up sliding downhill from tea bush to tea bush or raging
river rapids that were used for filming the movie Deliverance?
Nope, none of those….stuff like that has to be left to the
extraordinary skills of our trailmaster but this one will have some
great views of Tian Mu and Beitou plus an excellent location close to
the city in the hills of Yang Ming Shan. Starting from AIT's Japanese
Style Guest House this weeks run will have a long and short route.
Seeing the Japanese Guest House is a must as some of the "older"
hashers will tell you. This cottage is around a hundred years old and
is built in the old Japanese style with tatami mats and a hot sulphur
spring sauna inside the house.
Bring your cameras, not only for the excellent views from the
mountains across the valley but also to for the fast disappearing
historic relics of Taiwan's past. Walkers will take around 1:15 and
runners should be in about 1:15 to 1:30.
本月Puma Run的日子即將來臨，由兔子AIT John及Doctor Tom帶領大家領略陽明山區之優美景色，起跑地點選在一棟百年古老日式別墅，John將帶大家穿越時光隧道，回顧當時那段風花雪月，相信大家一定不願錯過這特別之日。本次路跑分為長程與短程，走路者約花1小時15分(P.S.不知是長的或短的)，跑步者當然會少於1小時15分囉!!!!
Rounding out this great weekend will be a bash at none other than
"Grandma's place." Used in the past by the hash this location is also
located on the YMS hillside with outstanding views of the valley.
Grandma promises to put the tables and chairs outside (weather
permitting!) to allow us to take in the fantastic views.
跑步完後的Bash地點為陽明山上Grandma's place，此乃過往陽明山路跑後大夥最常吃飯聊天的好地方，除山中飄來徐徐微風，讓你透心涼，由那兒你還可將台北市美麗之夜景盡收眼底………那種感覺並非三言兩語可說盡，你一定要親自來體驗。
The run start is just before the Yang Ming Shan Flower Clock. For
those driving flour will start from the Welcome Supermarket on Yang De
Da Dao at 1:30. The only parking is in one of the YMS pay parking
lots and will be marked. For those taking the bus, either the 260 or
I5 from Chen Tien or Shi Lin will get you up close to the run start.
After getting off the bus walk a few hundred meters along HuShan Rd to
the start.
起跑地點的古老日式別墅，座落於陽明山公園之花鍾之前。
開車的朋友，麵粉將於當日1:30pm於仰德大道上之Welcome超市開始灑起，起跑點附近只有一付費停車場提供。無交通工具的朋友，請於捷運淡水線(紅線)於劍潭站或士林站轉搭乘〝260〞或〝紅5〞線公車前往，於陽明山總站下車後，沿湖山路(位於陽明山國家公園門口附近)走，約數百公尺之距離即可抵起跑點。

聽到林義傑長跑穿越撒哈拉沙漠時，筆者還在飛機上，不論是機上的中文報紙，或是機場巴士裡的電視新聞，給筆者的印象都是：一個台灣勇士孤獨的背著國旗，寂寞的在沙漠裡「為台灣而跑」！
等回到家中，發現英文新聞都沒有提到所謂「台灣精神」，反而清楚寫著共有三名跑者參與此壯舉；更重要的是，這活動是由影星麥特戴蒙發起，目的是為慈善機構「非洲之水」拍紀錄片募款，在非洲提供乾淨水源。
我們的新聞怎麼了？為什麼完全聚焦在所謂「台灣之光」上面？我們的閱聽大眾怎麼了？有幾個人關心林義傑究竟為何而跑？
台灣的邦交國多在非洲，因此林義傑在非洲長跑格外有意義，若台灣真關心非洲的黑朋友，就應立刻傚法其他國家，宣佈跨國慈善捐款可抵稅，用實際行動支持林義傑這項長跑活動的真義。從林義傑的相關報導就可看出我們國際觀之狹窄和偏頗，拿時間與空間的座標為喻，台灣人的眼界似乎出不了腳下的原點；可是，對外面的世界不瞭解，又對歷史沒興趣，怎能看清未來要走去哪裡？
媒體亦隨波逐流，國際新聞往往只剩下兩種，不是瀛寰搜奇式的零碎報導，就是戴著「草根色」的眼鏡，把「無關」台灣的部分過濾掉的新聞。筆者查詢剛揭曉的柏林影展，卻幾乎找不到國內的報導，因為台灣沒得大獎，新聞就懶得報了！長此以來，我們根本不知道別人已經進步到什麼地步，發生亞運金牌目標打對折的誤判，或是國片到了世界各影展繞一大圈仍空手而歸，也就不足為奇了。
缺乏國際觀的現象發生在學界就更令人莫名所以，現在網路發達，全球資訊都在指尖的滑鼠下面，國際觀應該非常靈通，可是就在春節前，我還批改了幾篇弄不清拿破崙是哪個時代的卷子，也遇到託我在曼谷購物的商科老師，竟然不知亞洲各國貨幣已升值大半年，台幣得倒貼才換得到等額泰銖的情形。
以林義傑的新聞來說，又有多少人喊得出另外兩名跑者的名字？遑論「非洲之水」和類似的非政府組織。
說實在的，台灣把「綠色外交」、「永續發展」等標語喊得很響亮，但當國外的組織身體力行，發起替非洲找水源的活動，台灣卻冷落了活動的主旨。林義傑已返台，媒體炒作的方向不外乎大英雄一路上聽什麼歌解悶啦？穿什麼鞋啦之類！然而，「究竟為何而跑？」將是我們問自己、問媒體、問林義傑的重要問題！
